The MAVIE project is launching a new activity to fund its services, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2024. It will therefore be possible to cycle 100 kilometers for this cause.
It was thanks to the initiative of Mark Richard, father of one of the MAVIE participants, that the project was born. The road will extend between the two sectors of Baie Comeau using a bicycle path.
“Accessible for all levels of cyclists, participants will have the privilege of stopping whenever they want, for a distance of up to 100 kilometers for more experienced cyclists,” reveals Annie Boisseau, MAVIE project coordinator.
Registration costs $100 per person, regardless of mileage.
“The 100-kilometre run for MAVIE will conclude our week of symbolic activities included within the Quebec Week for Persons with Disabilities,” said Ms. Boisseau, explaining that a special calendar will be proposed to celebrate the organization's 10th anniversary.
To participate in the project and make a difference in the lives of MAVIE participants, it is possible to register for the new challenge via Facebook or in person.
Remember, the MAVIE Project stands for the Movement for Achievement, Valorization, Social Integration, and Liberation of People with Disabilities.
