After a failed penalty shootout against Monaco (2-2, 4-2 on the pens), Nantes qualified for the Coupe de France final! He will face Nantes Nice at the Stade de France.
The joy of Nantes after qualifying
Nantes joins Nice in Stade de France! After an inconclusive meeting, FCN won its ticket to the Coupe de France final by defeating Monaco during a penalty shootout (2-2, tab. 4-2), Wednesday night.
The first wild period
Well into the match, Nantes could have opened the scoring in the first minute on a small number from Colo Mwany who played with two opposing defenders before seeing his shot blocked. ASM was hot but responded just before the quarter-hour mark of the opening match for Maripan who took advantage of the poor scoring to header from a free kick (0-1, 12)! The Chilean defender will be less happy after ten minutes.
While Monaco were better at their game after their goal, Mariban was guilty of a heavy loss of the ball in midfield. On the counterattack, Nantes equalized thanks to a goal … against their team of Sidibe who thought he could stop the opponent’s action after an interference in front of Simon (1-1, 21). At the back, both teams received a blow to blow in the first half as the ball moved from one surface to another, without changing the score until the end of the first half.
Three minutes of madness
After returning from the locker room, the meeting fell into the wrong rhythm. Technical errors multiplied on both sides and risks prevailed. So there wasn’t much food until the 74th minute. It was the moment both teams chose to pack this encounter again: first with a goal from Moutoussamy who gave preference to the Canary Islands (2-1, 74); Then with a draw in the crowd Boadu (2-2, 76)!
At an uncertain end to the match, FCN had one last chance to win in the 90th minute but Nbel interfered in front of Corchia’s attempt. – On an eccentric left free kick and shot from Vanderson, Mariban was never spotted in the area. Chilean surprised Descamps by turning the ball from behind the head (0-1, 12th position).
– Kolo Muani blocks Maripan’s pass and rushes towards the opposite surface. The Nantes striker fixes Desassi and moves to the left towards Simon. Sidibe throws himself to block the pass … but sends the ball into his own net (1-1, 21).

Man of the Match: Randall Kolo Mwany (8/10)
The Nantes striker simply exploded on the screen. He has managed to push Maripan to its limits. He steals the ball from the Monaco defender before he scores in his camp’s goal, Sidib. He is still involved in Nantes’ second goal by putting pressure on the unfortunate Sidib. He could also have been credited with a superb assist in an acrobatic recovery if Blass had aimed his shot before the break.
Nantes :
Rmy Descamps (6.5): The Nantes coach decided to trust No. 2 in this semi-final. He shouldn’t regret it because Lafont’s lining couldn’t do anything about the two goals scored and take out Ben Yedder’s penalty shootout attempt. This allowed his team to race for the lead until the end of this session.
Dennis Appiah (4): Exact match for Nantes’ right piston. He struggled defensively against Martins in particular and was very chaotic offensively. Replace 85 with Sebastian Corcia (No).
Jean-Charles Castellito (5): The central defender in FCN was not an Imperial, he dropped the mark on Boadu in Mongaski’s second goal, but he made several hot balls in his area and returned well in front of Ben Yedder in the second half.
Andre Girouto (5.5): A dangerous match for the Brazilian. In central defense, he was too good at reading the match to block Mongasque’s actions (8 interceptions).
Nicholas Balois (7): Nantes’ steel defender was excellent. He made valuable interventions, such as this shot that was pushed back in front of his line or this one made in front of Ben Yedder in the first period. Quiet and active.
Quentin Merlin (5): The young left-back has been working with the restless Vanderson, so he has focused on his defensive duties. He makes a good intervention in front of his line on a ball stinged by Ben Yedder, but Mongaski’s second goal comes from his side on a Vanderson cross.
Ludovic Blass (6): Another good match for the decent man at FCN. He was highly valued for the quality of his passing and his ability to break opposing lines. However, he could perform better in his recovery passing after a serve from Kolo Mwani just before the break.
Samuel Mutosami (5): We will remember mainly his goal that gave Nantes the advantage for two minutes in the second half. For the rest, he was shy in physical impact and wasn’t always very inspiring in his use of the ball.
Chirivila (5): A correct match but no more for the Nantes midfielder. He had a lot of wasters during this match (76% successful passes, 13 losing balls).
Moses Simon (6): He did a good job. Thrilling, the Nantes striker struggled to exhaust the Monaco defense with the depth of his calls. Nice shot pushes Noble back in the second half.

Alexander Nabil (5): The Mongaski goalkeeper cannot do anything about the two goals his team conceded. Otherwise, the German saved two dangerous attempts from Simon and Corchia, but did not save any penalty shootouts.
Djibril Sidibe (3): The Monaco defender had a bad evening. He is unhappy about Nantes’ first goal, conceding a goal against his camp when he put in well against Simone. The second time, he faced Kolo Mwani but returned the ball to Mutosami. There are days when nothing goes…
Axel Disassi (6): Decent match for the ASM central defender. He was less challenging than Mariban and won all his duels.
Guillermo Mariben (4): A complex evening for the Monaco defender. In great difficulty at the start of the match, he seemed to get his foot back with his goal. But then he suffered greatly against Colo Moine, who stole the ball from him on Nantes’ goal and then eliminated him with a big bridge in action after half an hour of play.
Cayo Henrique (5): He was available in the first season by hitting the races in his lane. After the break, he took on a more defensive role to leave less room for Kolo Muani behind his back. Replace the 86 with Ismael Jacobs (not).

Orleen Chumney (5): The French international is capable of the best. While recovering, he doubled down on tackles and had a great deal of play to annoy Nantes.
