“After careful deliberation, the developers at TERA (Bluehole) have unfortunately made the difficult decision to end game development, as they believe they can no longer provide the satisfying content that Tera players deserve,” Gameforge said. Instead, they wish to focus internal development efforts on other projects. Gameforge has happily welcomed a large community to TERA for nearly 10 years now and would have happily served gamers for much longer, but without the developers’ support, this wouldn’t be possible.”

Tera will stop accepting new account registrations on May 31, 2022, at which time the Tera Thalers coin will also be deactivated. All Tera Club purchases will also be disabled on this date, while servers will be officially down on June 30. Tera’s website, forums and social media pages will also be closed after the servers are closed.

The FAQ mentions PC only, so it remains to be seen what happens with Tera on console on PlayStation and Xbox. GameSpot contacted the publisher to try and get more details.
