Things are going better for Melina Robert Michonne! After disappointing during the French Winter Championships, Iséroise discobolus finished a good third during this Sunday’s European Throwing Cup.
The Colombian threw the discus at 61.70m and finished behind Germany’s Shanice Craft (64.88m) and Liliana Ka (64.32m).
Tavernier is a little better
Seventeen centimeters gained in fifteen days. Two weeks after the French champion won a new title in Salon de Provence thanks to a throw of 67.93 meters, hammer thrower Alexandra Tavernier improved a bit on Sunday in Leiria (Portugal) at the European Cup.
The Annecy Haute-Savoie Athlétisme champion cleared 68.10m on her sixth and final attempt to sneak into seventh place in an event won by Italy’s Sarah Fantini with 73.26m.
A performance that is still far from the minimum (73.60m) scheduled to secure its place at the World Championships in Budapest (Hungary) this summer (August 19-27).
