Ed Sheeran rode a car to perform an impromptu concert on the streets of New York on Friday (05.05.23).
The 32-year-old show star delighted passers-by by jumping on the hood of a car parked outside her pop-up shop in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood and singing songs to the crowd.
The crowd gathered in front of “Ed Sheeran – The Subtract Experience Pop-Up” and the singer serenaded them with songs like “Perfect.” Priscilla Ignacio, one of the spectators, told MailOnline: “He was really cool and it was amazing to see him play for people in the street.”
The offer came a day after Ed won a $100 million legal battle over his track “Thinking out Loud.”
Accused of copying elements of Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get it On”, Ed is being sued by the heirs of the song’s co-writer, Ed Townsend.
The singer adamantly denied any wrongdoing and the case concluded on Thursday (04.05.23) with Ed acquitted of the plagiarism charges.
Speaking off court, the pop star hailed her win as a triumph for all songwriters. He explained, “I am just a guy with a guitar who likes to write music for people to enjoy. I am not and will not allow myself to become a piggy bank.”
