The Portuguese-Morocco Economic Forum was launched on Friday, May 12, 2023 in Lisbon, under the slogan “Morocco-Portugal: Together to build prosperous economies and shared growth.”

This forum brings together, in addition to the presidents of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises and the Portuguese Contractors Confederation (CIP), Moroccan and Portuguese economic actors and businessmen active in several fields.

Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch indicated that Morocco and Portugal are determined to develop their cooperation, whether in the economic, commercial or cultural aspect, stressing that this important event must be a starting point for exploiting the capabilities of the two countries in order to participate in building new value chains to develop modern economies. Diversified and sustainable, led by competitive sectors and job creation.

In this sense, he called on Moroccan and Portuguese entrepreneurs to seize commercial opportunities and give “the many complementarities to the economies of our two countries”, stressing the need to continue strengthening economic relations between the two countries and increasing opportunities for cooperation, as he demonstrated. For his part, the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, João Gomez Cravinho, highlighted the close relationship between Morocco and Portugal, noting that the high-level meeting held today and the signing of the agreements is an example of the deep strategic partnership between the two countries.
