less, Their full press release :
We, the alumni directors of Sciences Po, would like to raise our voice on behalf of alumni in France and around the world who remain very attached to Sciences Po and trust in its alumni association. We express our great concern.
Everyone – citizens, economic actors, donors, recruiters and employers – who are deeply connected to our school knows that Sciences Po is inherently sensitive to the political and social transformations our societies are undergoing. This has been repeated several times since the establishment of the Free School of Political Science in 1872.
On the other side Minority behavior That prohibits the expression of contradiction is unacceptable and clearly does not reflect the reality of our school nor the spirit of its 15,000 students.
While our school is mired in a deep crisis, we wish Through this press release:
– We reaffirm our unconditional adherence to the core values of our House: academic freedom and freedom of expression, pluralism, a spirit of openness and dialogue, a sense of debate and nuance;
– Providing strong support to the vast majority of students who want to be able to study and take their exams in the best possible conditions, as well as teachers and staff who work in this direction;
We affirm our support for the school administration, which demonstrated in the dialogue its adherence to order and respect for the law.
We agree to the road map for the interim administration as recently presented By Jean Basser : Preserving freedom and pluralism, not allowing a minority to confiscate debate, punishing any form of racism and anti-Semitism, and rejecting any negotiations regarding partnerships with universities or companies associated with the State of Israel. We also oppose all attempts at political recovery in the run-up to election deadlines, and insist on the fact that an active minority representing 1% of the student body has been blocked.
We know excellence in Sciences Po teaching is the result of a combination of the academic and professional worlds, and we take pride in knowing that the school is recognized as one of the best in the world: Sciences Po has risen to the rank The second best university in the world in the political science category In more than 1,500 international universities.
We are committed to being open to society and the world, at the forefront of social and academic innovation. Guarantor of our school's heritage for almost 150 years, Sciences Po graduates will remain extremely vigilant in preserving its reputation and the value of its degree.
For this reason, with our professional experience, and as the process of appointing a principal begins, we remain determined to work closely with the school. To build its future.
