Wentzenheim.  A day dedicated to Portuguese folklore

After 5 years of existence, Coração do Minho, a young association from Wintzenheim, organizes its third festival, which is evidence of its dynamism. Coming from the Portuguese Colmar Association, it consists of 38 active members, including 12 musicians and 4 singers.

Daniela da Costa, president and choreographer, is satisfied with her group “even if there are not enough boys to form pairs.” Strict, it does not accept any offer without at least 4 pairs. She adds: “I refuse to let couples dance where one of the members is a girl dressed as a boy.”

To replenish her repertoire, which currently numbers about ten dances, she goes to Portugal every year to meet local groups.

On the Iberian rhythm

“We train on Saturday evenings from 8pm to 10pm in the gymnasium of the Wintzenheim School. Although the members are of Portuguese origin, from 2H Or 3H Their generation or their spouses, all people are welcome. As long as they want to learn traditional dances to captivating Portuguese music.

In the program, from two o'clock in the afternoon, performances by the Wintzenheim ensemble will be presented, as well as performances by Alfortville, Saint-Pierre-des-Corps and two Belgian groups from Brussels. At eight in the evening, a Portuguese concert will be performed by the Luxembourg band “Os anjos da musica”.
