He suffered a heart attack after two squatters were found in his home

A 75-year-old man was completely terrified when he found a couple taking shelter in his home in Arkansas, USA. The stress he felt caused him to suffer a heart attack, according to what was reported by many American media outlets.

Gary Brankle spent a few weeks in a treatment center recovering from a medical problem. However, when he returned home on May 30, an unpleasant surprise awaited him.

Kelly DeShields and Matthew Villagran reportedly took advantage of his absence to stay at the residence for at least a month. According to the American media KNWA, the couple believes that the house has not been inhabited for years.

The 54-year-old even tried to seize ownership of the property after following instructions on Google, according to an affidavit obtained by prosecutors. New York Post.

She later admitted that no one had told her that she could occupy the land.

Mr. Brankle was hospitalized again after suffering a heart attack. At the time of writing, his health condition was unclear, but he was able to confirm that he did not recognize the squatters nor give them permission to live in his home.

The couple is also accused of burning Mr. Brankle's personal documents and some decorations, according to the Benton County Detention Center.

The two individuals were arrested on June 5 on burglary charges. The detention center said they were being held in pretrial detention until their appearance in court on June 15.
