Joe Biden 'definitely' remains in the race for the White House

(Washington) – President Joe Biden is “definitely” still in the race for the White House, his campaign manager said Friday, despite growing doubts about his physical and mental fitness to serve a second term.

Biden has been in turmoil since his disastrous debate performance with Donald Trump on June 27. In recent days, several elected Democrats have urged him to give up, fearing their party will be defeated in the November 5 election.

At the moment, the president is still holding out.

“Joe Biden is more determined than ever to beat Donald Trump,” his campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillon, told MSNBC.

“The president is the leader of our campaign and the country,” she added. “It’s clear […] The best person to confront Donald Trump.”

You've heard it directly from the president over and over again: He's running to win, he's our nominee, and he's going to be our president for a second term.

However, the director admitted that the past few weeks have been “difficult” for the campaign team.

“We've certainly seen some erosion in support, but it's a small movement,” she said.
