Doctors should pay more attention to the mental health of their patients, to identify those most at risk.
If we easily imagine that cancer can have an effect On the mental health of patientsHowever, it is not easy to study this phenomenon in detail, not even at a distance from diagnosis and treatment. However, this has become possible thanks to the French group Canto, which has followed no less than 14,000 women with breast cancer since 2012. The result, presented in June in Chicago during the World Congress of Oncology, supports the early assessment of the psychological vulnerability of patients, in order to offer them an appropriate course and thus reduce the risk of their mental health deteriorating.
