Paris 2024 Olympics Horse Riding: Portuguese rider dislocates shoulder, breaks collarbone after fall

Everyone was worried about him on Sunday after he fell during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Portuguese rider Manuel Greif and his horse Carat de Premoy missed a hurdle in the cross-country event and fell to the ground. The 34-year-old has been suffering from several injuries.

If Carat de Premoy got up quickly after his fall, but lost his shoe, his rider remained on the ground for a moment. He finally managed to get up before the doctors examined him. As he told the media Bom Dia, he has several injuries: “I have some pain, I dislocated my shoulder and broke my collarbone. I have to have an operation.”

However, he has no regrets after this fall that led to his exclusion from the event. This happened in the surroundings of the magnificent park of the Chateau de Versailles. The spectators did not fail to notice the beauty of the place.

“The experience was very good,” commented Manuel Greif. “Unbelievable atmosphere, sensations I’ve never felt anywhere else. If I had to do it again, even if I knew it might not go well, I would do it.”
