After being overrun by a hundred raccoons, she called the police for help

An American woman learned despite herself that it is not recommended to feed raccoons after she found herself invaded by hundreds of these animals, which forced her to resort to her car and call the police at home.

The woman, who lives in Poulsbo, northwest of Seattle, Washington, has been feeding raccoons for 35 years, Kitsap County police said in a video posted Monday on Facebook.

But things got worse six weeks ago, before reaching their peak on October 3, when the woman had no other choice but to flee her home to escape these animals.

“The woman says raccoons surround her day and night, begging for food,” the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office said.

“She said she was offered prices of up to $500 per raccoon to trap and transport,” authorities said.

Officers referred the woman to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife to resolve her issue.

“Feeding raccoons can create unwanted situations for you, your children, your neighbors, your pets, and the raccoons themselves. Raccoons that are fed by humans often lose their fear of humans and can become aggressive if not fed as intended. It is also possible to read on the website Ministry online.
