Why Special request? “Because we wanted to have fun with this album. It's like a feeling that comes from the gut, we wanted to go there with a kind of personal desire. I'm also a fan of karaoke and I do a lot of special requests.” [rires]. “It's a little wink to show how much we love music,” the 36-year-old explains.
What did you want to say about this new album? “For us, at the end of the work we will see the cohesion and direction of the album. Here I am talking about my fears and my own limitations. Happiness is in creation and what it can bring us. It is a very positive album and in the light. We would like to describe it as a guide to overcoming our dark times in a positive way.
There is beautiful diversity on this album. Do you think there are as many musical styles as there are group members? “This time we tried to make a more cohesive album… but we didn't succeed in the end. [rires]. But the voice and all the members succeed. It's a simpler record than the others, less psychedelic, more rock.
Tell me about working with your colleagues. “Jérôme Dupuy-Cloutier is the trumpet player who played 2e Album. Naomi Delorimer is one of my favorite singers, and Emmanuel Ethier is our favorite director. “I will entrust him with a million dollars without any problem.”
What are you most proud of 3e Authorship? “We really thought about it a lot. Making the third record comes with another difficulty. I didn't want to repeat myself. We explored sounds a lot. It should be difficult to make a good album, that's what I like. It's been very enriching.”
What can we expect from the upcoming concerts? “I am very happy to do this job and be able to sing on stage. I have not been on stage for a year, because we took a short break. I can say that we are back strong.”
