Phuket: This year’s Phuket Old Town Festival kicks off tomorrow, January 27, in Phuket Town, to coincide with the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Phuket Old Town Festival 2023 will run all weekend, from Friday evening to Sunday, with festivities from 6pm to 11pm daily.
The festival will kick off with a colorful opening ceremony and opening parade on Friday evening at the main stage which will be installed opposite Standard Chartered Bank at the intersection of Phuket Road and Phang Nga Road in the old Portuguese Chinatown of Phuket Town.
On Saturday evening and Sunday evening, the theater will host a series of concerts and cultural performances by local artists.
Thalang Road, Soi Romani, Soi Pradet, Krabi Road, Phang Nga Road, Tako Road, Thepkratri Road and Phuket Road will be offered many attractions in the area, all these streets will be closed to traffic and pedestrians during the evening.
Among the attractions, there will be stalls selling local produce, cooking and crafts, food carts, exhibition booths, and painting booths, as well as stylish item vendors, street art displays, and a vespa show.
There will also be several small stages dotted around the neighborhood for various entertainment shows, dragon dance and local traditional dances.
The entire neighborhood will be decorated and lit with lanterns to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rabbit. A great opportunity to have fun.
