A listening device was discovered in one of the offices of the Ukrainian army commander

A listening device was discovered in one of the future offices of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army, Valery Zalozhny, the security services in Kiev announced on Sunday, explaining that the device “does not work.”

“The equipment was not found directly in Valery Zaluzny’s office, but in one of the buildings that he could use in his future work,” Ukrainian services explained on Telegram.

They added that an investigation had been opened into “the illegal use of special technical means to obtain information,” without providing any leads about the origin of this eavesdropping device.

“The found device was not working. No data storage or remote audio transmission devices were found. The Ukrainian services further indicated that this technical device would be sent for examination.

As Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zalozhny decides the general course of operations on the front, under the authority of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In recent months, Ukrainian and foreign media reported increasing tensions between Zelensky and Zalozny, against the backdrop of the failure of the counterattack launched by Kiev forces in the summer and the collapse of Western support.

Ukraine has been facing a Russian invasion since February 2022.
