A Maryland man has been arrested on a myriad of charges after he allegedly stole a forklift and used it to run over a woman in the parking lot of a Home Depot supermarket.

Detectives from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) have arrested 20-year-old Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown of Waldorf in connection with the death of 73-year-old Gloristine Pinckney, according to Fox News.

According to the sheriff’s office, Brown is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, assault, and “other related charges.”

Patrol officers responded to a burglary and burglary in progress at Lowe’s Home Improvement store on Crain Highway, which was burgled at approximately 12:40 a.m. Sunday.

Once inside, police said the suspect left the shop in the stolen forklift by ramming it through the back doors.

He then drove the forklift to a Home Depot where police say he crashed into a car in the parking lot, Fox News reports.

Police said Pinckney, who was sleeping inside that car, miraculously survived when he was hit by the forklift.

She tried to flee, but Brown followed her, ran her over with the forklift, then stole her car and drove off. Pinkney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brown is currently being held in the Charles County Detention Center without bond.

The case is still under investigation.
