This Nashville elementary school was the scene of a new mass shooting by an attacker who managed to obtain guns legally. Three nine-year-olds and three adults were shot dead and ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ actress was among those who helped the children find safety during the assault.
My husband and I used to go to school to give lectures. Fortunately, our kids didn’t have a class that day. We helped a kindergarten class,” she explains with tears in her eyes in a video posted to her Instagram account the day after the killings.
She details how she saw “kindergarten students climb trees to try to escape the terrible shooting at their school”. “So we helped these young children cross the street to find their teachers,” she explains.
And if Melissa Joan Hart is so upset, it’s also because this isn’t the first shooting she’s witnessed. The star and her husband, Mark Wilderson, previously lived in Connecticut with their three boys, Mason, 17, Braden, 15, and Tucker, 10.
Their home was not far from Sandy Hook, the elementary school where a 20-year-old man set fire in 2012, killing 20 children ages six to seven, and injuring six adults before taking his own life. Once again, the shooter was able to legally obtain guns in the United States.
Melissa Joan Hart concluded, “We helped a mother find her children and I… I don’t know what to say” cheered by Americans who want better regulation of firearms on their soil.
