In Europe, ending the crisis coincides with enhancing stability. Many businesses have been shaken by the coronavirus, and the ones hardest hit are changing. Last Tuesday, the Franco-Dutch Airlines Group announced its acquisition of 19.9% of the shares of the Scandinavian company “SAS” (Scandinavian Airlines System), for $144.5 million.
The Portuguese government announced, on Thursday, its desire to privatize 51% of the capital of the national Portuguese airline TAP. German giant Lufthansa (its Swiss parent) immediately showed interest, but Air France-KLM and IAG (British and Iberia) could also be potential buyers.
