Despite the events inside the headquarters, Liberty Auction, the company responsible for organizing the event, announced a record sale, according to CNN.
Quite a few people were in attendance for the event as the line started to form to enter the establishment at 6 am before the auction started.
All items found a buyer for well above their new value.
For example, a yeti mug priced at $35 sold for $400.
Living room furniture found a buyer for $30,000.
Liberty Auction owner Laurie Mattingly told CNN that buyers are “determined to get what they want.”
“It proves that people have more money than common sense,” she adds.
Among those attending the auction was a woman who attended the appearance of Alex Murdo.
“We were so invested in this family and this experience and followed everything closely,” Mary Landrum shares. “I think having something to remember would be fun.”
The total collected at the event was not revealed.
