A fighter jet crashed after a routine exercise Saturday near a US military base in South Korea, according to information from the US Air Force.

The plane, assigned to the 8th Combat Wing, reportedly crashed in a farming area near Osan Air Base at around 9:45 a.m. local time, according to the US Air Force Korea Unit. CNN.
The pilot was able to safely remove himself from the mobile phone, to be taken to the nearest medical center.
No civilians were injured during this incident.
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon tweeted that the local fire department was dispatched to put out a nearby fire.
An investigation is underway to determine the causes of the accident. So far, everything indicates that the pilot was engaged in routine training.
Osan Air Base in South Korea is the closest US base to North Korea. It is located 64 km from the border separating the two countries.
