Evoking the Greek goddess of wisdom, the symbol for this chip has been dubbed “Athena,” according to US media outlet The Information. The software – which Microsoft has been working on since 2019 – will power the technology between ChatGPT chatbots.

The media has also indicated that the chip is currently being tested by teams from Microsoft and OpenAI. The Athena slice aims to train extended language models and support nesting.

According to the information available, the success of ChatGPT would have prompted Microsoft to work twice as hard. Note that the company launched its own search system equipped with artificial intelligence – Bing AI – at the beginning of the year.

Fox Business reports that other computer giants, such as Amazon and Google, are also programming their own AI chips.
