Angola and Portugal strengthen economic relations

Angolan President João Lourenço received Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa in Luanda.

On the occasion of this two-day visit, a number of ministers from the two governments signed 13 agreements ranging from financial to legal.

“I must say that we felt a great desire for cooperation on the part of the Portuguese judicial system, with which we were able to exchange not only information, but also to harmonize Angola's anti-corruption strategy. We say that, in principle, everything was requested from the Portuguese authorities so that we could of finding the right correspondent.', said João Lourenço, President of Angola.

Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa announced an increase in Portuguese investments in Angola in order to “support” the country in diversifying its economy: “To support the Angolan government’s ambition and strategic approach to diversify the country’s economy, we have significantly increased the credit line from one thousand five hundred to two million euros.”

This meeting symbolizes the beginning of a new era in political and economic cooperation between Angola and Portugal.
