In June 1940 in Bordeaux, the extraordinary measure of Aristides de Souza Mendez made it possible to save tens of thousands of people, both Jews and non-Jews, by issuing them visas to enter Portugal.
Aristides’ legacy It explores the transmission of this humanitarian act, 80 years after the events, by giving voice to the children and grandchildren of the refugees rescued by the Portuguese consul, as well as to the grandchildren of Aristides.
An extraordinary story is revealed in this film shot in Bordeaux and Portugal, but also in the United States and Jerusalem, which bears witness to a multiple, timeless and unique heritage through an act of heroic courage.
