God, Science, Evidence, co-authored by Michel-Yves Polloret and Olivier Bonassi, has met with some success since its publication last year. If the thesis supported by some is denounced and supported by others, the work does not seem to leave anyone indifferent. A collector’s edition is expected on October 13.
The back cover of this declares “Modern Proofs for God’s Existence”. A popular science book published by Guy Tridaniel in October 2021. If the question of the existence of the Creator ostensibly puts science and faith in opposition, the authors intend, by virtue of the fruit of their work, to prove the opposite.
The book has been a huge success with 200,000 copies sold so far, and has an audience that “touches all intellectual currents”.
A college edition of the bestseller will be released in bookstores October 13th. The reader will be able to discover a portfolio containing testimonies of scientific personalities involved in the debate between science and religion as well as representatives of Protestantism, Catholicism, Judaism, Islam and Freemasonry.
Also presented in this special edition is a pamphlet that represents an illustration of the great shift “in the origin of growth and then the decline of scientific ideas”, which was revealed in the book.
The work of Michel-Yves Bolloré and Olivier Bonnassies is divided into two parts, the first focusing on evidence related to science. “The past hundred years have helped us so much,” identifies Mr. Bonassis, who states that if there have always been reasons to believe in God, whether it be the beauty, the grandeur, the order, or even the harmony of the universe, “the science of centuries seems to have been from Copernicus to Freud. proves the opposite.
“Finally, when we got into the 20th century, a whole host of discoveries (relativity, thermodynamics, the Big Bang, cosmology, quantum mechanics, biology, the fine tuning of the universe, etc.) raised the question of God by the power of the way,” he continues. “Because all these discoveries conclude one thing: that the universe had a beginning, and if there was a beginning, then there is also a cause. And so the most logical thesis is that the intelligent mind operates behind all this.”
In addition to these scientific proofs God, Science, Proofs explores “non-scientific proofs” such as the existence of Christ, prophecies, miracles, and the permanence of the Jewish people … demolishes the physical framework, which is thus no longer compatible with reality.
A thesis also supported by Robert Wilson, the 1978 Nobel Prize winner in Physics who signed the foreword to the book. The scientist, who is not himself a believer, asserts that “although the thesis that the Supreme Spirit is the origin of the creation of the universe does not seem sufficient to him, he accepts its coherence.”
The ambition of this 500-plus-page book is not to talk about faith, as Olivier Bonassi reminds us, who specifies that it is above all about defining “the scientific thesis that best adheres to reality.” Nevertheless, it can be an excellent tool for evangelism as well as an invitation to reflection and debate. It has also already urged publications in response.
The book, which has been on the bestseller list since its publication, appears, however, to have captured the general public.
