Upon contact with heat, the enamel ignites and melts to create each of the layers. It can sometimes take several weeks to produce one tablet to get the desired colour. Finally, the Breguet Arabic numerals and minute track as well as the Breguet logo are highlighted by powder-coated silver.
Hours and minutes are displayed by hollow, apple-shaped golden Breguet hands. Finally, the minute repeater is activated via the lock at 9 o’clock.
The watch case measures 42mm and is newly available in rose gold. It houses the caliber 567.2 whose balance wheel oscillates at a frequency of 2.5 Hz, and when the watch is flipped over, the manual-winding mechanical movement, entirely hand-carved, can be admired thanks to the sapphire crystal back and, in particular, the case of the hammers made of blackened polished steel.
“This movement shows the dexterity in positioning the gongs, gong holders and mallets. In fact, the gongs are fixed in the middle instead of the plate. The latter, therefore, vibrates directly and transmits the sound in a perfect way,” specifies the brand in its press release.
In addition, it is made of gold to provide a tonal and rich sound quality. This material also provides another advantage.
Since the box is also designed in gold, the elements share the same acoustic resistance and thus provide better sound transmission and performance. The feature that was the subject of a patent application by Breguet.
The new Classique Minute Repeater watch is equipped with a black alligator leather strap and a gold three-blade folding buckle. In the same collection, the watch is also available in white gold, with a Grand Feu enamelled dial and an alligator strap, the latter two having a midnight blue tint.
