When they arrive in a new study area, young people often lose continuity of care with their treating physician and the health system in general. The stakeholders of Grand Cahors Higher Education and the Health Screening Center of CPAM du Lot are solemnly committed to providing them with the answer: a complete preventive health check. It is delivered by a multidisciplinary medical team and relies on auscultation, screening procedures and preventive reminders of risky behaviours. If special care is needed, the student will be referred, while respecting confidentiality, to specialist health professionals.
These meetings also aim to update the beneficiaries and their rights
Introducing the health system in the new host area. Although this health prevention check is optional, some players take this approach further by including it in the agenda for new upgrades. More than 250 young students from the Institute of Training for Health Professions, Lycée des Territoires de Cahors – Le Montat, Master of Gastronomy or even medical trainees will be affected by this health screening. This collective approach can be expanded to include all higher education institutions in the region that wish to be associated with this health work.
This signing constitutes a regional response to improve medical care for students. The participation of these actors supported by the Regional Health Agency demonstrates their desire to be an essential part of the preventive approach in order to work towards improving the quality of life of students.
The CPAM du Lot Health Screening Center will be able to honor more than 300 consultations annually for these students.
