(Montreal) A group of 29 players will take part in the first training session of Camp 2023 in Montreal this Monday morning at the Olympic Stadium.
This will be the first training camp for the Montreal organization under new head coach Hernán Losada. The latter was appointed to the post a few days before Christmas, replacing Wilfred Nancy, who would command the Columbus Crew.
Goalkeepers Logan Ketterer and Jonathan Siruis, defenders Zachary Brault-Gaillard, Rudy Camacho, George Campbell and Aaron Herrera, midfielders Jean-Anel Asi, Mathieu Schoenere, Ahmed Hamdi, Jogia Koizera, Lassi Lapalainen, Salain Miljevican and Sitipa. Torres, Victor Wanyama and Reda Zuhair will be present, in addition to strikers Ki Kamara, Sanusi Ibrahim, Rommel Koyoto and Mason Tui.
Five players from the academy, namely Jefferson Alphonse, Gabriel Antinoro, Luc Cloutier, Malek Dauda and Matisse Hébert, have also been invited to participate in the first team camp.
The players selected by the club in the latest edition of the NBA, Milo Garvanian, Osman Jabang and Nick Kristofferson, will go to trial on Monday.
In addition, Canadian players who competed in the recent FIFA World Cup will benefit from an additional vacation period.
Goalkeeper James Bantemis and defenders Kamal Miller and Joel Waterman will join the group starting January 13, while midfielder Samuel Peet will join his teammates on January 16.
Central defender Robert Thorkelsson will also miss the start of the camp in Montreal where he was selected by the Icelandic senior national team for two friendlies to be played in Portugal, today against Estonia and Thursday against Sweden. He will return to Montreal on January 13th.
