Les amis du Vieux Chamonix Association presents on Friday August 25th, at 6 pm, a free conference in majestic Which will trace the career of Gabriel Pirro Fallot. An extraordinary woman driven by a flair for adventure but also a remarkable affinity for science and art.
She married the scientist Joseph Fallot, and also contributed to his experiments before she divorced him in 1912, which was very rare at the time.
Inspiration
At least that’s what the speaker and journalist Elian Patriarca will tell us, who will also explain how the young woman adopted the trouser, the appropriate outfit for underground and mountain trips. Thanks to her writings on speleology and her explorations, Gabrielle Fallot encouraged women to become mountain climbers.
