For several years now, menswear brands have not hesitated to draw inspiration from womenswear wardrobes to bring to life pieces originally intended for women. We saw that last season with The skirt is everywhere at Ludovic de Saint Sernin or recently withlace top Seen this week on Dsquared2’s show Milan Fashion Week. This time, it’s Prada’s turn to tackle an iconic piece of the women’s wardrobe to pass it on to the men: the dress.
Today At the Prada fall-winter 2023-2024 show Held in Milan, Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada, who work side by side to design men’s collections for the Italian house, closed their show with a series of silhouettes that highlight the masculine version of the famous dress. And so the models posed in what looked like long-sleeved dresses made of suede (also known as suede or more commonly suede). Available in sand, navy, brown and black, it is worn over suit trousers with a coat of the same color and material.
