De Marque, a Quebec company specializing in digital books, has just signed a partnership with the Directorate General of Books, Archives and Libraries (DGLAB) of the Portuguese Ministry of Culture. As the non-physical book sector grows, this collaboration aims to create the country's first digital public library.
” With this mandate, we are proud to be able to affirm our mission of connecting creators and audiences around the world. It is very important for us to be part of the culture enhancement approach, and this is particularly reflected by De Marque's involvement throughout the process. He explains Mark Boutetpresident of DeMark, in a press release.
To do this, De Marque will coordinate all the different stages of the creation process, from designing the lending platform to its production. The company also pledges to follow up with the Ministry for office training and the promotional campaign, and guarantees access to the catalog of digital and audio books in Portuguese.
At the same time, De Marque continues to provide its services to other administrative institutions and international governments, such as France and the United States. Last year, the company made news by purchasing French AI startup Geo Comix for comic and manga translation.
