Didier Deschamps has stunned everyone with his line-up for the Euro 2024 quarter-final between France and Portugal. Eduardo Camavinga starts in midfield, while Marcus Thuram is a substitute.
That's the answer to one of the two big questions surrounding the Blues' starting line-up. While Didier Deschamps will have to do without suspended Adrien Rabiot for Friday's Euro 2016 quarter-final between France and Portugal (9pm kick-off), the Frenchman has decided to replace him with Eduardo Camavinga. The Real Madrid man will play in midfield alongside Aurelien Tchouameni and N'Golo Kanté.

The Blues coach has played a big trick with his lineup. Initially, as first reported by RMC Sport, Antoine Griezmann appeared to be the one to start in midfield instead of Rabiot. Griezmann will start but with the attacking duo of Mbappé-Kolo Muani.

Another big surprise: Marcus Thuram was replaced in the 11th minute by Randal Kolo Muani. The Parisian was initially expected to play on the right, but he will eventually occupy the central striker position, alongside Kylian Mbappé.
As a reminder, Antoine Griezmann risks suspension for a potential semi-final if cautioned on Friday, just like Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé and Aurelien Tchouameni.
