On Thursday, streaming platform Netflix announced the release of a documentary on Luis Figo’s move to Real Madrid on August 25. The documentary is called “The Figo Affair: The Transfer That Changed Football”.
This documentary deals with the scenes of Figo’s controversial transfer from FC Barcelona to Real Madrid. In the summer of 2000, the midfielder joined the Madrid club for 60 million euros.
The main protagonists of the Netflix movie are on the one hand Luis Figo himself, his agent Jose Vega, who made this transfer possible, and the president of Real Florentino Pérez, who was appointed president of the club for the first time. Madrid in July 2000 the transfer of Figo was one of the first deals that Perez concluded.
The 49-year-old Portuguese wants to make things clear in the documentary: “A lot of people have spoken without knowing the signature, but I have the real story because I’m the protagonist.” The football world is eager to see what awaits them on August 25th.
The Figo Affair: The Transfer That Changed Football includes video footage of over 30 hours of interviews. Everyone who took part in the transfer gives their impressions of what happened around the saga of Vigo.
