EPoP is a national approach that supports the agency and participation of people with disabilities by promoting peer intervention.
Peer intervention occurs when people with disabilities transfer their knowledge about disability to other people with or without disabilities.
Who is concerned?
- People with disabilities who want to pass on their rare experiential knowledge.
- Professionals from all sectors who wish to encourage the use of peer speakers in the context of their work.
Currently, EPOP is being published in Côte d'Or, Haute-Saône and Saône-et-Loire.
The Four Stages of the EPOP Approach
- Identify existing peer workers and peer intervention sites in the relevant areas.
- Offering two training courses: one for people with disabilities who wish to become peer interventionists, and one for professionals from all sectors who wish to become peer intervention reviewers.
- Support stakeholders and auditors in implementing their projects.
- Peer Worker Network Leadership and Peer Intervention Review.
