He was shortlisted for the Renaudeau Prize for his novel What I know about youQuebecer Eric Shakur found himself among the top 10 titles in Femina’s second pick on Tuesday.
The author, whose first novel, tells the story of Tariq, a doctor living in Cairo in the 1980s who will be pushed into exile. It was published in January in Quebec by Alto and reached third place in the best-selling novels as part of the August 12, I’m Buying Quebec Book Movement. In France, it was published on August 24 by publisher Philippe Ray, and has already won the Première Plume Prize, which aims to highlight emerging authors.
The finalists will be revealed on October 24 and the winner will be announced on November 6.
