Fines of ,000 after being forcibly confined to her seat on an airplane

A woman who had to be glued to her seat on an American Airlines plane after trying to attack the crew and opening a door mid-flight is facing fines totaling about $82,000.

This is the largest fine ever awarded by the US Federal Aviation Agency.

The accident dates back to July 6, 2021 on Flight 1774 from Dallas, Texas to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Videos of the rider posted on the web show her perfectly fixed in her seat thanks to several layers of tape.

According to several passengers on board, the woman panicked before landing. She allegedly started screaming and begging to be allowed out.

“I definitely have to get off this plane. You have to let me out,” I cried.

The woman allegedly attacked and bit a flight attendant while she was trying to open the front door of the plane.

It therefore had to be attached “for her own safety and the safety of other passengers and crew on board,” as the airline specifies.

The woman has 30 days to respond to the federal agency and appeal the fine. However, the agency specifies that it has a “zero tolerance” policy for inappropriate behavior on board aircraft.
