Four people lost their lives after boating accidents

Four Americans have died after jumping from a speedboat in a new challenge on the video platform TikTok that has gone viral.

This new ‘trend’, which can be found under the hashtag #boatspeeding, is believed to be the cause of death for these four Alabama folks.

The latter jumped out of the stern of a boat and threw themselves into its wake, while the ship continued to advance, according to information from daily Mail.

State authorities confirmed that all four individuals reportedly broke their necks on the spot as a result of the dangerous maneuver that led to their deaths.

Many netizens denounced this disturbing trend on social networks.

“I reported your video. It’s a very dangerous practice, other people could try it and kill themselves doing it,” said one TikTok user. Another claims the practice is “really dangerous and not nice.”

According to Capt. Jim Dennis of The Childersburg, Alabama, Rescue Squad, one of the victims was a father who was enjoying the day on the boat with his three children, wife, and other loved ones.

The most recent incident occurred in May, when a middle-aged man succumbed to his injuries.
