Attorneys for both sides argued Wednesday in Sarasota County, Florida, court over the significance of the letter in the lawsuit Gaby Pettito’s parents filed against Brian Laundry’s parents.
The envelope containing the letter, which read “burn after opening”, was found in Brian Laundry’s backpack when his remains were discovered in October 2021.
Remember, the disappearance of influencer Gabby Petito has sparked a national search and made headlines around the world. Her boyfriend at the time, Brian Lowdry, had returned from a trip without her.
The young woman’s remains were found in the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming in September 2021 and her death was ruled to be strangulation.
Before he took his own life, Brian Laundry wrote in a notebook that he was responsible for Gabe’s death, according to the FBI. His body was found the following month on a reservation not far from his parents’ home in North Port, Florida.
Gabby Petito’s parents are suing Brian Londry for emotional distress over their daughter’s death, according to CNN.
They claim that the Londry family refused to call or text them during their daughter’s disappearance.
On the other hand, the Londry family believes that they owe nothing to the Petitos.
