Garmin has started rolling out the second update to its 18.xx beta cycle. To recap, the company has started developing beta version 18 with Beta version 18.09Building on software release 17.28, the 18.09 beta changelist has expanded into double digits thanks to a series of bug fixes and some new features.

This time, the company has finished beta version 18.10, which can now be downloaded on Enduro 2 smartwatches. ($699.95 refurbished at Amazon)Epix 2, Fenix ​​7, Quatix 7, and MARQ Gen 2. Please note that Garmin will not automatically update devices from Beta 18.09 to Beta 18.10. Instead, you will need to manually initiate the software download by going to Menu, then System, then Software Updates, and then clicking Check for Updates.

However, Garmin acknowledges that this action may not start the update process. Fortunately, Garmin has provided download files for each eligible smartwatch to download the new update, which can be found on its forum. For reference, the 18.10 beta is supposed to fix two notable bugs, both of which could cause the system to crash in the 18.09 beta. The bug fixes included in the 18.10 beta are:

  • Fixed risk of system shutdown when changing suggested daily workout settings
  • Fixed a system crash risk when editing external map layers in Maps+.
