Google Messages: Interface under improvement
From now on, you can enlarge a contact's profile picture by clicking on it from the main menu. This way it will be much larger than the version that appears in the Details view in Google Messages. If this is a conversation with multiple parties, profile pictures of multiple members will appear side by side.
Google also takes the opportunity to add three shortcuts just below Zoom, in order to perform certain actions more quickly: “Message” opens the conversation so you can send a message to the contact, “Call” instantly dials the contact’s number while “Information” opens a page Contact details without having to open the conversation and tap on the app bar or context menu to access them. These shortcuts are also present in group chats, except for the Contact tab.
The contact profile picture enlargement feature has been beta testing throughout June and is now rolling out to the general public. So you may have to wait a little bit before you can take advantage of this feature, as it may take some time.
