A cyclist was killed on the runway at Guinea Conakry airport while trying to cross it. Several French media reported that a Portuguese airline plane hit him while he was landing BFM TV.
In fact, the Flight TP1492 incident was launched on Friday, September 2, 2022. The information was confirmed in a press release published by the Portuguese company TAP on Saturday. “A motorbike attempted to cross the runway upon landing,” the statement said.
Later in this press release reported by the French media, the plane could not avoid the accident. “All safety measures were followed, but it was not possible to avoid the accident. There were no injuries among the passengers and crew.
In addition, an investigation is underway to find out the causes of this unfortunate accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist whose identity has not been revealed in the media.
After this unfortunate incident, the return flight of TAP that was scheduled to land on Saturday 3 September 2022, at midnight 10 (Haiti time), has been canceled, according to information provided by the Portuguese airport manager (Ana).
