In this document we find a list of more than twenty traditional dishes of the country that are a must-try if we want to discover the gastronomic delicacy of the pearl of the Antilles. Among them are Tonmtonm, Mayi moulen, Pen Patat, Sòs Pwa, Legim, Pikliz, Pate Kòde, Griyo, Taso, Soup Joumou and Tchaka.
They also noted that the following drinks are most popular in Haiti: Ti Punch, Kleren, Akasan, and Kremas.
With a cuisine full of rich and varied flavours, the world’s first black republic broke a record, beating out Norway, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Jamaica, Sweden and many others who found themselves at the bottom of the list.
For the record, the famous gomo soup, a historical dish from Haiti, is primarily consumed in 1Verse January, Independence Day, was officially recognized as the Intangible Heritage of Humanity in December 2021 by UNESCO.
