The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) chose the referee of Moroccan origin, “Ismail Al-Fateh”, as referee for the match that brought together the national teams of Portugal and Ghana in the World Cup Qatar 2022.
“Ismail Al-Fateh” currently holds American citizenship, as he is considered an international American referee, and he is considered one of the most prominent referees in the United States of America, as he managed the most prominent matches in the American Professional Football League, in addition to dressing him. International badge and participation in the arbitration of many international matches and competitions.
Returning to the path of his life, the international referee “Ismail Al-Fath” was born on March 3, 1982 in the city of Casablanca, where he grew up in the popular African neighborhood of the city, and also obtained a bachelor’s degree in Jaber bin Hayyan secondary economics in Casablanca.
“Ismail Al-Fateh” was also in the midst of a sports family, and he was a basketball player in the ranks of Wydad Casablanca Club, while his brother was a player in the ranks of Raja Athletic. His father was a player on the Moroccan national rugby team.
According to the “Arab Post” in 2001, Ismail Al-Fateh registered in the American immigration program through the lottery, and he came out by chance in the lottery and had a date with immigration and settled in the United States of America, where he started a new page in his life while attending the University of Texas, where he graduated in 2006 with a degree Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Ismail Al-Fateh was a former captain in the final of the CONCACAF U-20 Cup, the FIFA U-19 World Cup 2019, the FIFA Club World Cup 2019 and a number of matches in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
