Lawrence Paul Anderson, 44, pleaded guilty to several counts, including three first-degree murders.
According to Grady County Attorney Jason Hicks, the man pleaded guilty at the request of the victims’ families.
“They didn’t want a trial,” he said in a press briefing.
“Nobody wanted to sit in a courtroom and hear the sordid details of the murders of their loved ones.”
On February 9, 2021, Lawrence Paul Anderson attacked his uncle and aunt, as well as their four-year-old granddaughter. Only the woman survived.
He had previously killed their neighbor, whose heart he “ripped out,” according to “The Oklahoman.”
During his interrogation, the suspect confessed to his crimes and explained that he had cooked the heart of one of the victims with potatoes to “liberate his family from their demons”.
The tragedy occurred three weeks after the man was accidentally released.
