Feeling a little anxious as the cold season approaches is a common phenomenon and documented by many experts.

According to Sylvain Guimond, MD, a sports psychologist, it’s completely “normal” to feel this stress “because our workload is bigger, so we have anticipatory anxiety,” plus we haven’t been “so cool.”
This phenomenon is attributed to fatigue and lack of light in particular.
“People who have short vacation time or whose vacation was ruined by the temperature were not able to recharge their batteries in the fall, so there is also physiological fatigue. The loss of light also has an impact,” says the expert.
“People need to be careful about how they talk to themselves” to avoid depression.
Some recurring negative thoughts can contribute to worsening fall blues.
“The only thing I have control over as an individual is what we call cognitive reframing. Automatically, I will be able to control the emotions I will feel. It’s not a magical thing. It works for everyone. It’s something that, unfortunately, we’re not taught at an early age,” says Mr. Guimond. “.
