Singer and presenter Nathalie Simard has been enjoying life to the fullest for several months and has nothing but gratitude for this period of change and the arrival of the MeToo movement that has given her a new life after crossing the desert.
“I started living again when MeToo arrived because in the end I was no longer alone in carrying this issue from a distance,” said the host, who revealed that she had been sexually assaulted by her former business manager, Guy Cloutier.
“Before MeToo happened, I was considered crazy and it was very hard to bear because I knew very well that I was far from crazy. Yes, I was not okay, because I had a man who ruined my life, ruined my childhood, so I had to rebuild myself by myself,” she admitted in an interview with QUB on Wednesday.
From now on, Nathalie Simard wants to put these events aside and focus on her new projects, between this step and especially her new program “My mother, your father” which arrives on TVA at the beginning of the school year.
“I'm in a beautiful time in my life, I'm grateful, I've been waiting for this moment for a long time because my life has been a roller coaster,” she said with a smile.
Between tension and excitement
As of September 12, the artist finds himself at the head of this new reality show aimed at the generation between 40 and 60 years old.
“I think this will comfort our generation, and tell us that we are asking the right questions,” she says.
“Reality shows for young people, we are in the French era, I do not judge them in this sense because it is normal, it is this generation, but in our era we are in another place. […] “We know what we want, but above all what we no longer want,” she explained.
Therefore, Nathalie Simard, a “sufficient” woman and mother, is far from afraid of future challenges.
“I feel like all of my life choices have prepared me for this moment, this day, here and now, and I'm so happy,” she said.
