'Immaculate' performance from Democrats ahead of convention opening

The Democrats are meeting for their convention at which Kamala Harris will be formally nominated as the nominee, an event that is being held under the sign of enthusiasm, but above all a call to order not to make the mistakes of 2016.

“So far, we can say that the Democrats’ performance is impeccable,” he added. “That’s no small feat for a party that’s used to tearing itself apart in the public arena,” admitted Luc Laliberte, a specialist in American politics, ahead of the opening of the convention.

The Democrats did not hold back, and they intend to urge party leaders to mobilize the forces, starting with Joe Biden, but also Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who will be able to remember the “fierce battle” that still has to be fought.

“We need a call to order, beyond emotion, we have work to do. I think Hillary Clinton would be a good candidate to follow through on this warning,” Mr. Laliberte explained in an interview with LCN on Monday.

Kamala Harris's party will also face the challenge of “showing the undecided, the independents, and the frustrated Republicans that we can trust them,” the duo she forms with Tim Walz.

The current vice president will have to prove above all that she can stand up to Donald Trump, with whom she has not yet debated.

“There are a series of traps and obstacles that await you in the race, and there are a series of tests,” Mr. Laliberté recalls.
