A student has been charged after he slapped his teacher twice at a North Carolina school earlier this week.
The student, identified as a minor, violently attacked a teacher at Parkland High School in Winston-Salem, sparking laughter from other students, according to a video posted on X.
After the impact, the teacher did not seem to react to the student’s slap, while the young man continued to insult her. “Do you think this affects me?” she asked, still sitting comfortably in her chair.
As for the student, it seems that the teacher’s words inflamed him even more. “This makes me want to hit you again,” he replied a few seconds before hitting her in the face again.
“What's wrong with you? What are you going to do again while sitting in your chair, because you're ***? No one came, I was slapped,” he continued with a proud look.
The school condemned the behavior of the student in question. “This behavior will not be tolerated. “It is never acceptable for a student to put his hands on a teacher in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth School District,” the administration responded, according to information from the New York Post.
A warrant was issued Tuesday charging three misdemeanor charges against the student for assaulting a government official, the Forsyth Police Office said.
He confirmed that the student in question was charged with one count of sending threats, in addition to two counts of simple assault.
