Independence Scotland: Former First Minister thanks PSPP for support

After being defeated by the British Supreme Court for the right to hold its own independence referendum, Scotland can still count on the support of Party leader Quebec, a recognition appreciated by the former Scottish prime minister.

“PQ will always be by your side,” PQ player Paul St Pierre Plamondon said on Twitter Wednesday when the referee was announced on the other side of the Atlantic.

He also took the opportunity to recall that in 2021 the National Assembly voted on a unanimous motion by the PQ recognizing the right of Scots to “dispose of their own destiny”.

A message that did not escape former Scottish Prime Minister Alex Salmond, who thanked him for his support.

“We hope we can talk soon to explore how we can support each other,” he wrote in French on social media.

Mr. Salmond is the leader of the Scottish Independence Party (ALBA). He was originally the organizer of the country’s first independence referendum in 2014 and announced his resignation as prime minister the day after No’s victory.
