Introducing students to art and science

As part of the Micro-folie project, supported by the urban community of the greater Saint-Dizier-de-Vallee region, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture (Monday, January 15), primary school students were introduced to art and science.

On Tuesday 16 January, during the afternoon, Sonia Legendre's 21 students (CE2, CM1, CM2) were invited to attend a cultural orientation session, in the village hall.

The digital museum will be held there until Friday morning, January 19, for the public, with free and open entry.

For an hour, moderator Maxime Berart presented the children with various artistic creations around the theme chosen by the class: Wonders of the World.

The session began with prehistoric rock art depicting hunting scenes and a traditional Javanese doll.

Next, the students followed an excerpt from a concert by the Paris Philharmonic Orchestra, accompanied by a singer from Benin, and then studied the different architectural phases of the construction of the Palace of Versailles during the reigns of Louis XIV and Louis XV.

Finally, a Japanese print from the 19th century, representing a view of Tokyo at that time, was of great interest.

The exchanges between Maxime Berart and the attentive children were very useful.

Students had to identify the continent of origin of these creations on the globe, evaluate their era, and even name the country in question. In addition, they were introduced to the different families of musical instruments used by the Parisian orchestra.

For other classes from the school, 25 children from Astrid Barazzutti (maternelle) auront were found on January 18 at matinee, and 21 children from Alain Denis (CP, CE1, and the home of CE2) ) afternoon.
